Windsor Shad Derby Festival Pin & Ribbons
A longstanding tradition was begun in 1972 with distribution of numbered medallions and pins for the Shad Derby Festival volunteers. The annual tradition was started by Roger Olsen of Combustion Engineering.
These valued medallions are distributed still to this day during the Shad Derby Gala as a token of appreciation to all the past Festival Chairs, current event chairs, volunteers & contributors associated with preserving & continuing the Shad Derby Festival in Windsor, Connecticut. The honor of selecting the Shad Derby pin color is bestowed upon that year's organizing Festival Chairpersons.
A collection of all the past Shad Derby Festival pins can be found at the Windsor Historical Society.
