Time: arrival for set up at 10:00 am, parade steps off at 11:30 am
Place: staging is in the Windsor High School parking lot by the rear entrance
Parking: Sage Park Middle school

One of the highlights of Shad Derby Day Festivities is the annual Shad Derby Parade that marches through town from the High School to Capen Street to Broad Street and to an end at the Town Green in Windsor Center.

The parade features many groups including the Windsor High School marching band, the Windsor Fife and Drum Corps, the Shad Derby Monarch and the Royal Court, the Shad Derby Queen candidates, first responders, school groups, sport groups, scouts, worship groups, and the list goes on.

Windsor Shad Derby Festival

The Windsor Shad Derby Festival is a long standing New England Tradition. The tradition began in 1955 with an annual fishing tournament to raise awareness of the growing pollution of the Connecticut River. In 1966, as the Derby grew in size a parade and festivities on the Windsor Town Green were added to celebrate & commemorate the Shad Derby Festival and promote the best of the local area through it's many resources, businesses and organizations.
